Shawn P. Fojtik, CEO
Shawn Fojtik has 25-years sales, marketing, product development, and management experience at Boston Scientific, GE Medical Systems, Black & Decker, and medical device development companies. He has over 20 combined issued and pending patents on angiographic, biopsy, electrophysiology, occlusion access/crossing, sensing, and thrombus extraction devices. Two patents issued YTD 2011 and he is also core patent contributor to CIRCA Scientific, Denver, CO and Distal Access, Park City, UT.
Prior to Control Medical, Shawn was the founder, core patent contributor, and CEO of Pinyons Medical Technology, Park City, Utah. Within 26-months of funding, Pinyons earned one issued U.S. patent, added five patent applications, obtained two FDA 510(k) approvals, won a global 2008 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA), and then sold to Covidien. He received his Bachelors Degree from University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois and Masters Degree from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. |
Lawrence Kronick, Sales and Marketing
Larry Kronick has over 20-years of operational experience in the Asia Pacific Region leading cardiovascular, interventional radiology, electrophysiology, general surgery, and imaging sales, marketing, and business development. He is the founder of BAC Inc. a medical device and equipment consulting company and led Pinyons Medical Technology’s Sales & Marketing through their successful exit.
Mr. Kronick held sales and marketing leadership positions with Acuson in Hong Kong and U.S. China Industrial Exchange, Inc. (medical and scientific instruments) in Beijing. Mr. Kronick also speaks Mandarin. |

Mr. John Martin has almost 20-years experience working in Japan in electrophysiology, pacing, ICDs, cardiac surgery, and cardiovascular device marketing and sales. With his nursing background and extensive customer relations throughout Japan and Asia Pacific, John specializes in defining markets and maximizing sales. Mr. Tim Nieman, holds a BS in Bioengineering from Arizona State University and has 15 years experience in medical device development. His experience includes roles with CR Bard, Worldheart, and Edwards Lifesciences. His accomplishments include device commercialization for cardiovascular stents, catheters, wires, LVADs, and ablation devices. He has 7 issued or pending patents. |
Phil Reed, Engineering
Mr. Reed has 22 years of engineering experience in interventional cardiology, spinal orthopedics, and consumer products. Previous employers include Kenner Products, Cordis Corporation, and Johnson & Johnson. Mr. Reed has been an active contributor to OrbusNeich, Pinyons Medical, Occam Scientific, and U.S. Spine. He holds a BS in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University. |
